Pastor Carey Richards, beginning April 6, 2025
Pastor Carey Richards grew up in western Pennsylvania and attended college in western New York. She met her husband, Luke, while attending Asbury Theological Seminary, where she earned her Masters of Divinity. She has 14 years of pastoral ministry experience, mainly serving as a co-pastor with her husband. Pastor Carey is ordained and credentialed through the Wesleyan Church. Although she worked as a custodian in a United Methodist Church she attended in seminary, this is her first time pastoring a United Methodist Church. She enjoys working with congregations to sense where God is leading them as a church.
She has lived in Hanover, Indiana for the past 3 1/2 years where her husband serves as pastor at Hanover United Methodist Church. Since moving to Hanover, Carey has devoted her time to raising their two young children and has served as an ESL (English as Second Language) aide at Southwestern Elementary school. She enjoys adventures with her family, hiking, and reading historical fiction.
